FEIT Laptop Loans
Short-term laptop loans for FEIT Students
As FEIT will be running some lab subjects on a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) basis, Student IT is offering short-term laptop loans to support students whose personal devices are unavailable or not functioning for their class on campus.
These laptops are available to students enrolled in onsite FEIT lab subjects.
How to book a laptop
You can book a laptop through our Microsoft Bookings Page.
You will need to include your subject code and ensure you have read the terms and conditions before completing your booking.

You will receive a confirmation email when your booking is made, a reminder email an hour prior to your appointment and when your 24-hour loan period has ended.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
-
Yes, you can walk-up to the desk but we can’t promise that there will be devices available. You will also not be given priority and may have to wait in line behind other students receiving IT assistance.
You will still need to book an appointment on the spot, provide your Student ID card and show you are enrolled in an onsite FEIT subject.
-
If you do not return your laptop on time, the device will be locked, and you may lose any data saved on it. Late returns can also affect your ability to borrow future devices.
-
If you're unable to return the laptop on time, please contact Student IT as soon as possible to discuss alternative arrangements.
-
If your personal device is broken and under repair, and you need a laptop for a longer period (1-4 weeks), you can apply for a student loan by contacting Student IT via chat, phone, or by visiting the help desk.
Please note that having a working personal device (e.g., a MacBook) but requiring Windows OS for coursework is not a valid reason for a loan. We recommend using MyUniApps, virtual machines, or university computer labs to access Windows-specific software.
-
If you are experiencing financial difficulties that prevent you from acquiring a working device, we encourage you to reach out to the university's Financial Aid team. They are well-equipped to provide personalised guidance on various options available, including student financial grants and financial loans to help you purchase your own device.
