UoM Network: Upcoming Changes to Supported Operating Systems

On August 14, users connecting to the UoM network will need to adhere to new cybersecurity requirements. Outdated device operating systems using depreciated communications protocols will be unable to connect to the UoM network.

UoM Network Prerequisites for BYOD devices:

·          Mac - Recommended: Monterey 12.65 / Ventura 13.3.1; Minimum: Big Sur 11.76

·          Windows 10 - Recommended: 22H2 / 21H2 / 21H1; Minimum 20H2

·         Windows 11 - Recommended: 22H2 / 21H2

·         iPhone - Recommended: iOS 15.75 / iOS 16.4.1; Minimum iOS 12.5.7

·         iPad - Recommended: iPadOS 16.4.1; Minimum iPadOS 13.7

·         Android - Minimum of 10.0 and above

If you are using a personal device, please follow the instructions below to check your operating system compatibility, and update if your device does not meet the new prerequisites listed above.

What you need to do

  1. Check if your device is running a currently supported OS

Technical specifications: TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 are not supported (insecure). Device OS must support TLS 1.2 or greater.
